Dress for Interview Success

Getting a new job is always a nerve-wracking experience. Even with a solid resume, the interview is the moment when you really shine. The first judgement an interviewer makes is going to be based on how you look and what you are wearing. You'll only have a few seconds to make a great impression. There are a few things to bear in mind:

OUTFIT

Before you even think about going on an interview, make sure you have appropriate interview attire and everything fits correctly. Get your clothes ready the night before, so you don't have to spend time on the day of the interview.

While your interview attire depends on what job you're applying for, no matter what the position, you should come in looking neat, tidy, and well dressed. Think about the company’s style and channel their look.

Wear colour. Everyone wears black to an interview, a simple way to stand out is to work some colour into your outfit.

MAKEUP

When you're doing your makeup for an interview, think soft and natural. Choose shades within a close range of your skin tone.

Avoid Clumpy Mascara; you want to look professional and polished - not like you just got home from a hectic night.

Go for a natural Lip Gloss, rather than a statement colour.

HAIR

During your interview, you don't want to be worrying about pushing your hair out of your face. A style with one side pulled back, a neat side braid, low bun, or pony tail will do the trick.

If you have short hair and want to dress it up a bit, consider natural waves.

NAILS

Chipped nails are a sign the candidate is nervous or under prepared. Make sure, your mani is on point.
